Baltimore? Who cares when the Big Apple is calling....

More on the speculation about the future of our own Archbishop Timothy Michael Dolan. (Please recognize that every story means less attention is paid to the real issues that confront us locally. Not that we would notice the difference from the attention being paid up to this point.)

WCBS-TV in NYC (Has a video story..."Well liked by his priests"? Has that priest heard about Frs. Cooper, Mich and the rest of the Alliance?)

The New York Post (NYC's non-elitist, other newspaper. No snobbery, that means that no priest in Milwaukee reads it.)

Since I know that members of the Cousins Center staff, as ineffective as they are otherwise, occasionally read my humble little musings, please pass this observation on: Your Excellency, remember that the obvious choice is rarely, if ever, the winning choice or even the best choice! We all learned that at our first homecoming dance (I know, you and your friends were in seminaries and never learned those real life lessons).

Your Excellency, saw you on Channel 12 last night. Seems that Milwaukee Magazine is throwing the first brushback pitch of your tenure. Can you handle it? Is the Dolan honeymoon over? Will the rest of media follow suit? (Sorry, no more Mike Gousha giving you 30 minute lovefests over at channel 4. Better get madame spokeswomen working on peddling more puff pieces. Will you go to St. Louis if the Cardinals make the series? That might get a mention.)

Sir, if you loose the Milwaukee media suck-ups in just 4 years, do you really think that you can handle the New York media for the remaining 18-23 years or your careerism? Style fades, it will take substance to last.

Time will tell.

Dolan really wants a red hat and has and will do whatever is politically expedient, including cudos to the Chancelloris; Ms Cusak who got the prestigious Canon Law Association award for honesty and exceptional legal prudence. This in itself should raise a red flag for all of us, since Cusak was the Chancellor who turned a blind eye to Weakland's, multiple sexual assaults, embezlement and blatant support of homosexuality in the Archdiocese. Dolan then convinced Cusak to "destroy any priest with an allegation against him" trying to pretend that he was "shocked" by a behavior all too familiar to him in the Roman seminary system he headed up. Ms Cusak did his bidding masterfully by manipulating Canon Law. So Rev. Dolan, take your dog and poney show to wherever you want to spue your type of clerical politics. Milwaukee knows who you really are, how you operate to the best of your own advantage and how you have destroyed what little church was left when your prdecessor Weakland gutted our liturgy, our seminary, our parishes and even our pastors. Hope the red hat takes you to new heights, where you can finally see and feel the pain and suffering you have inflicted on so many faithful Catholics, all in the name of your personal political journey to the top of the heap!

While the spelling isn't great, the post is true.

If "Mike" believes that somehow Rome cares what the priests think of TD and that will factor into whether or not he is transferred higher up, you obviously don't know how Rome works. They protect and promote their own. Watch them keep Egan in power for another year after his 75th birthday, just to poke at the priest malcontents in the NY Archdiocese.

TD WILL be transferred and promoted. It's a matter of 'when', not 'if'. The only way he won't is if somehow, a liberal pope came in (not likely at this point in history).

"I" really don't know whether Rome cares or not. What "I" care about is the Church around here.

And yes, please practice spelling.

Why would the Canon Law Society give an award to someone who was involved in the cover up of priests who abused children? And in the cover up of her boss, who was carrying on a love afair with another man? Certainly in her position, she had to know. Or are we to believe that the was clueless? The Canon Law Society must be a corrupt organization as well.
